Advocating equal access for pedal-assist e-bikes.

Promoting safe, responsible riding of legal e-bikes.

E-Bike Access was founded in the spring of the pandemic in 2020 in an effort to assure that everyone who uses an e-bike could ride such on Mt. Tam lands owned by the Marin Municipal Water District. It took 5 years--e-bikes are now legal on Tam. Go here to read about that effort.

In the summer of 2023, E-Bike Access board members took notice of the high number of kids riding unsafely on throttle e-bikes on Marin streets. Following our safety clause in our mission statement, we started advocating for bike safety and helped write the new law banning Class 2 throttle e-bikes for kids under 16. Go here to learn more.
